IIt was so lovely bumping into one of my oldest friends today and it was literally ‘bumped’ as we both are pregnant!
My mum was with me so it was a reunion as mum has not seen her in years. We lovingly cussed her as West Indians do when we see each other after a long time and want the other party to know we’re not pleased we haven’t seen you but overjoyed to be seeing you now! ( if that makes sense!)
Twenty years ago Tash came to live with us. She had a loving home and mum and dad up north (but this girl wanted life in the big city and as determined then as she is now she convinced her folks. So her legend of a dad packed her up and drove her all the way from Bradford to west London. Me and Tash were buzzing. Life just got serious… SERIOUSLY RECKLESS.
We shared my box room, bed and swapped clothes, we double dated, we got piercings and tattoos and spent our wages in west end clubs with a band of other nutters! Oh what a distant memory. Almost doesn’t seem real. 💄💃🏽👠
Since them old days I’ve gone back to church, Tash hasn’t returned as yet but we’re working on her 😉My mum calls her the proddy as in ‘the prodigal’ to her face I might add! (Again West Indian love!) 😀both her mum and dad have passed but their legacy lives on in their children. That’s why I know she’ll be back. It’s in her DNA. (Her dad was a dynamic preacher-we’re talking had to change his shirt after every sermon kinda guy!)
I can’t believe that by the end of this summer we will have 9 KIDS between us! 😅😅😅😅. Whaaaaaat! We screamed in the street at that point and joked about needing a glass of wine there and then to steady ourselves. 🍷🍷🍷
Social media is great to keep up with friends but squeezing this crazy sista-friend of mine today gave me life. 🙌🏾Nothing beats face to face. Or in our case today. Bump to bump.
So to my darling Natasha aka proddy.. I will be seeing you soon. We have more memories to make. This time with a PG rating please! 😘❤️👯
